BreathePulse is a macOS menu bar breathing application designed to help users practice guided breathing exercises. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

  • Usage Data: We do not collect or track any usage data, breathing session information, health metrics, or user behavior analytics.
  • Device Information: We do not collect device identifiers, system information, or any technical data about your Mac.

Information We Store Locally

BreathePulse stores minimal user preferences locally on your device using macOS's secure USerDefaults system:

  • Selected breathing pattern preference (4-4-4 or 5-5 rhythm)
  • Visualization display settings (breath bar visibility)
  • App launch preferences (startup behavior)

Important: This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us or any third parties.

How We Use Information

Since we don't collect personal information, we cannot use it. The locally stored preferences are used solely to:

  • Remember your breathing pattern preferences
  • Maintain your preferred app settings
  • Provide a personalized user experience

Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose any information because we don't collect any personal data. BreathePulse operates entirely offline.

BreathePulse does not integrate with any third-party services, including:

  • Data Retention: Local preferences remain on your device until you delete the app.
  • Access: You can view your preferences within the app's settings.
  • Deletion: You can reset all preferences by:
    • Using the app's reset function (if available)
    • Uninstalling and reinstalling the app
    • Manually clearing preferences through macOS System Preferences
  • Portability: Since no personal data is collected, data portability requests are not applicable.

Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

BreathePulse is designed to be safe for users of all ages. Since we do not collect any personal information from any users, including children under 13, we are compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

International Users

This privacy policy applies to all users regardless of location. Since no personal data is collected, international data transfer regulations do not apply.
